Free leadership training

Leadership impacts everything in our sites. Care Providers of Minnesota has had requests for leadership training and education. THIS is a free tool for extensive training for you from AHCA/NCAL and space is limited.
How do we lead? How can we do it better? How do we coach? 2024 finds AHCA/NCAL offering the Building Trust Leadership Academy again!
What is it about? What is this “Building Trust” thing? It is learning how to actively listen better, be more consistent (decrease those “wobbles” that everyone has), bring your authenticity in a professional manner, showing compassion and understanding and ensuring logic and sound reasoning are communicated. All these things, and more, do build trust with your team and every sound leader works on these items.
This Leadership Academy is designed to teach facility leaders practical skills to help them build trust with their staff. Trust is at the heart of many challenges long-term care leaders are facing in their organizations. Trust has a huge impact on staff wellbeing, recruitment and retention, patient safety, infection control, and vaccine rates. This virtual 15-week interactive program is filled with easy-to-use tools and resources that leaders can apply to improve outcomes at their organization.
This leadership academy is for long-term care leaders and managers, both clinical and non-clinical in nursing homes or assisted living. This includes administrators, DONs, senior leaders, department heads, infection preventionists, quality improvement leaders, unit leaders and beyond.
AHCA/NCAL Building Trust Leadership Academy details
- Two 90-minute kickoff orientation webinars: February 13 & 14, 2024, from 11:00 AM–12:30 PM
- Bi-weekly leadership academy calls: March 5, 2024–September 17, 2024 (every other Tuesday, noon–1:00 PM)
- There is no cost to participants thanks to a grant from the Center for Disease Control (CDC)
- Facility leaders can click here to apply through this electronic survey
- Application deadline is December 8, 2023, at 10:59 PM
- Applicants will be notified of acceptance by January 5, 2024
