Quality Awards ITA

We thought we were seeing an increased LTC site focus on quality improvement as we are rising like a phoenix from the COVID ashes. But we were not sure. Now we know.

The intent to apply (ITA) deadline was last Thursday, November 16, 2023—and both national and state numbers blew away program goals. Tracking of this metric started 14 years ago, 2024 ITAs came in at the third highest with 1,645 centers applying. This number is only behind 2020 (1,966) and 2019 (1,728). We’re on our way BACK! And now this data proves that sites are starting to refocus on quality improvement systems and metrics.

So how did Minnesota fare? Wonderfully—thank you to our members! While Indiana blew everyone away at 181, Minnesota came in sixth, tying with Oregon at 66. What’s with Indiana? I’ve only been told that there’s a chain pushing hard. Either way, Minnesota at #6 is nothing to sneeze at. We’ll take it and run with it AND look forward to working and celebrating with you!
