CMS Quality Conference
May 1–3, 2023 (virtual)
On January 31, registration opens for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services annual Quality Conference. This conference tackles the most challenging issues our health system faces today. The CMS Quality Conference serves as a touchpoint and opportunity for solutions-oriented discussions to meet these vital needs. Improving the safety and quality of care for beneficiaries across the US is an effort we are all deeply passionate about.

This year’s theme–Building Resilient Communities: Having an Equitable Foundation for Quality Healthcare–is an essential step in addressing work yet to be done on institutional and community equity across all areas of healthcare. The conference will cover eight unique tracks, allowing for diverse conversations on a range of crucial topics:
  1. Patient Safety
  2. Advancing Health Equity
  3. Expanding Access to Quality & Affordable Behavioral and Physical Healthcare
  4. Collecting and Using Quality Data
  5. Engaging Partners and Communities
  6. Healthcare System Resiliency
  7. High Reliability and Quality Improvement
  8. New Innovation and Technology

The Quality Conference fosters excellence in healthcare quality by engaging partners and communities to drive innovation that promotes value-based, person-centered care.

Collaborative Safety Review and Systemic Mapping Process

2023 Minnesota Antibiotic Stewardship Conference
April 25–26, 2023 (virtual)
Minnesota Department of Health
The 2023 conference theme centers on a recommitment to stewardship. This theme was selected given the many challenges and competing priorities healthcare facilities experienced over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic which drew focus and resources away from established programs and initiatives, including antibiotic stewardship programs. While the impact of the pandemic remains great, there is work being done across the health care community to rebuild and strengthen stewardship work and combat antibiotic resistance.

Are YOU in an ECHO?
Next session: February 14, 2023 (twice monthly zoom)
12:30–1:30 PM
Minnesota Geriatrics ECHO
Would you value being in a supportive cohort of licensed nursing home administrators, assisted living directors, nurse leaders, and medical directors from across the state who explore challenging issues? If you’re open to a candid discussion of your knowledge, questions, and experiences working with older adults, this is for you.

Join in the 2023 Minnesota Geriatrics ECHO—a dynamic series of conversations between the clinical and executive leaders of Minnesota assisted living and skilled care settings. Pop in whenever possible and it is always a great discussion that can help providers in many aspects of their busy days. Ideas, support, and fun—oh my!

These one-hour sessions are held via Zoom from 12:30–1:30 PM twice each month. Supported by a team from the University of Minnesota and Hennepin Healthcare, each session is grounded in the ECHO principle of “all teach, all learn” and includes time to hear from others, reflect, share in group discussions, and take home practical clinical and technical information to inform your work.

All sessions and continuing education are free, thanks to funding by the Minnesota Northstar Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (MNGWEP). Sign-up to receive agendas here or email: GeriatricsECHO@umn.edu with questions.
