Development of New Americans in LTC Grant Program
A new grant program was passed in 2023 that includes $28,000,000 for LTC workforce development that is specifically marked for new Americans and LTC! The grant is administered by the Department of Human Services (DHS) Grants, Equity, Access and Research (GEAR) division. Carol Anthony is this division's Director and wants feedback from providers about your workforce needs. Ahead of preparing to publish request for proposals (RFP) DHS would like to hear from the long-term care provider community. This is our opportunity to hear more about the program and its objectives and weigh-in on our workforce priorities. Please join us to learn about the program and impact its design at the ground level.

LTC providers get to provide feedback regarding the RFP and objectives for this multi-million-dollar state grant program. The grant seeks to provide specialized services and supports to New Americans to enter the long-term care workforce. Many of the grant terms are defined in statute, but there are opportunities to influence the execution of grant initiatives and deployment of funds. Additionally, you, as a provider, might be interested in applying for funds and this could be an opportunity to get more information and see how it might fit with your organization.
