Pain. And all the pieces that go with it: types, scales, episodes vs. chronic, dosing, opiate side effects and most importantly, management of common pain situations. What are the consequences of untreated pain for our residents? What are the myths we must combat? Barriers we must destroy? Nurse or not, this is a session you won’t want to miss. Why? Because the effects of pain touch every part of our residents’ overall well-being. Whether you need to brush up, dust off or have a solid reminder for your residents, this is the session for you. Oh—and bring your questions!

Dr. Robert Sonntag is a Geriatrician and certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and Hospice & Palliative Medicine. He is certified as a CMD and HMDC. He is the Medical Director of multiple Nursing homes and also is the Medical Director of 3 Home Care Agency’s and 3 Assisted Living’s. He is employed by Health Partners as a Geriatrician working in LTC and subacute care.
