Ensuring compliance with medication chain of custody
Product Code: 2437W
In pharmacy medication fulfillment, understanding and maintaining the chain of custody plays a crucial role in ensuring patient safety, maintaining the integrity of pharmaceutical products and avoiding diversion. This session will share the processes critical to maintaining compliance and adherence to medication management from receipt of medications all the way to destruction.
Medications arrive, as if by magic. Resident administration and staff roles are done, right? That would be incorrect. Join us for an insightful webinar focused on the medication chain of command in long-term care (LTC) centers. This session will provide a comprehensive overview of the roles and responsibilities of key personnel involved in the medication management process, highlighting the importance of effective communication and collaboration. Whether you're a nurse, pharmacist, administrator, or other healthcare professional working in LTC, understanding the medication chain of command is crucial for providing safe and effective care to residents. Join us to gain valuable insights and practical tips for optimizing medication management in your LTC center.

Kevin Pavlik
Pharmacist-In-Charge, Lotus Pharmacy
I am humbled to serve as the pharmacist-in-charge and lead clinical pharmacist at Lotus pharmacy. I was born and raised in Minnesota and lived briefly in North Dakota while I got my PharmD from NDSU before returning to my home state in 2016. Caring for the elderly is what drove me to pursue a career in pharmacy and brought me to my first long-term care role as a hospice pharmacist. Following 3 years in hospice I met Jill Lytwyn, founder and owner of Lotus pharmacy, who shares my passion of caring for Minnesota’s seniors. When not at work, I spend my time tending my garden, working on cars, and chasing my 1- and 3-year-old children around the house.
