Call for presentations header

Care Providers of Minnesota is excited to start another year of preparations for the 76th Annual Convention & Exposition at Mystic Lake Center, November 11–13, 2024. During the three days, we will host dynamic keynote sessions, engaging learning sessions, an exposition & award presentations. We look to you to showcase your knowledge and expertise by submitting a learning breakout session proposal.

The call for presentations window is now closed. Thank you for your interest in presenting at our annual convention & exposition!

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Care Providers of Minnesota is committed to offering dynamic learning experiences at convention. We welcome proposals from new speakers and proposals created for intermediate and advanced experience levels. Since many participants are experienced professionals, entry-level sessions are discouraged. See target groups & topics below. Presentations from previous years are discouraged.

WHAT ATTENDEES ARE LOOKING FOR

Here are the most suggested education improvements from attendees—these insights can help form your session into an extraordinary experience for attendees to enjoy and discuss:
  • Deliver an interactive learning session—provide a session that involves audience participation to help attendees become engaged and retain more information
  • Do not read directly from PowerPoint slides—interact and connect with the audience
  • Allow time for Q&A during the session or in the last 10-15 minutes of the session
  • Repeat questions for all to hear, then answer
  • Provide new information on the topic
  • Tools—tried and true that are "plug & play"

Each learning session is 75-minutes, and there is a limit of two proposals per person.

WHO SHOULD SUBMIT A PROPOSAL?

PROVIDERS
You understand the trends, issues, and challenges facing your profession and you have first-hand experience in a variety of areas. Give back to your profession by sharing your knowledge and experience with your peers (and you don’t need to do it alone—co-presenters are always welcome).

STATE AGENCIES & OTHER LONG-TERM CARE ORGANIZATIONS
This is an opportunity for the agencies and organizations our members work with every day to share important information with participants. It’s also a great place to learn the concerns and priorities of providers.

BUSINESS PARTNERS, PRODUCT & SERVICE SUPPLIERS
When presenting, business partners can advance themselves as content experts to attendees. Business partners are welcome to submit proposals; however, learning sessions CANNOT be commercial presentations. The proposals must be completely educational and not promoting products/services. Remember, it is helpful for our members to see your company represented in a learning session and at a booth in the exposition.
