AHCA/NCAL Quality Award Program


Quality Awards

The American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living’s (AHCA/NCAL) National Quality Award Program provides a pathway for providers of long-term care services to journey towards performance excellence. The program is based on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program and has three progressive step levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Facilities must achieve an award at each level to progress to the next.




Key Dates for 2023-2024 AHCA/NCAL Quality Awards Program

June 27: Application/criteria video series available
August: Quality Award Portal opens; intent to apply (ITA) opens
November 16: Intent to apply (ITA) deadline
January 25, 2024: Application deadline
