The Health Unit Coordinator is responsible for the legible, accurate and timely transcription of physician orders. Organizes and prioritizes ordering of supplies. Communicates clearly with residents and visitors in person and on the telephone. Responsible for the legible, accurate and timely transcription of the physician orders from admission through discharge or death, scheduling of appointments and maintenance of the medical record and other clerical duties under the supervision of licensed nurse in accordance with policies and procedures. Responsible to promote resident rights. Communicates effectively with residents, families, physicians, co-workers and maintains a courteous professional manner. Assists with the needs and comfort of residents to include: mail, telephone calls, home visits or special needs. Hours: Part time evening shift, 12 pm to 830 pm. Every other weekend/Holiday. 40 hours a pay period.
