Communication resources: SOCIAL MEDIA & PHOTO/VIDEO GUIDANCE
Social media platforms enable people to interact with each other by both sharing and consuming information. These tools can be used effectively in our settings for marketing, education, and networking, but they also introduce potential risks to residents, employees, and providers, and can result in the distribution of poor quality information, damage to care center and professional images, breaches of resident privacy, violation of personal-professional boundaries, and licensing and legal issues. Take a look at the resources developed by the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), including a sample policy for photos and videos (read more about photo/video policy requirements here).
