Dietary Manager

The manager is responsible for the safe, sanitary, economical, and nutritional operation of the food service department. The manager will supervise the management of the dietary department and all related functions under the guidance of the consultant dietician. The manager will ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws and regulations. Duties and Responsibilities Manage the dietary department. Prepare staff schedules Establish meal schedules and work routines in cooperation with cooks and dietary aides Assure new employees are properly orientated and trained to position Assure sanitation and proper temperature of refrigeration and freezer equipment and storage areas Provide cooperation of dietary operations with the other departments Participate in Quality Assurance Monitoring and assure compliance with infection control and safety policies and regulations Assist in the selection of vendors, in order to assure an economically run department Maintain department sanitation Maintain the standards of quality and quantity of food served Maintain positive relations with residents, visitors, families, and staff Maintain confidentiality Please submit your resume along with a cover letter detailing your relevant experience. JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications a) A certified dietary manager; or b) A certified food service manager; or c) Have similar national certification for food service management and safety from a national certifying body; or d) Have an associate’s or higher degree in food service management or in hospitality, if the course study includes food service or restaurant management, from an accredited institution of higher learning; or e) Have 2 or more years of experience in the position of director of food and nutrition services in a nursing facility setting and has completed a course of study in food safety and management that includes topics integral to managing dietary operations including, but not limited to, foodborne illness, sanitation procedures, and food purchasing/receiving. Must have previous experience and special training in the field of food preparation, meal planning, nutrition, and sanitation.
