Care Providers of Minnesota (CPM) is a non-profit, membership association with the mission to Lead Members to Excellence. Our over one-thousand member organizations across Minnesota represent non-profit and for-profit organizations providing services along the full spectrum of post-acute care and long-term services and support—from traditional nursing facilities to specialized, sub-acute centers; assisted living and assisted living with dementia care; home care; hospice; as well as business partners who actively support CPM and its members. We address concerns affecting membership on both the state and the national levels Our organization is hiring for a job navigator role to coordinate the goals of a grant to support New Americans and their children entering the long-term care profession. This is a two-year grant initiative. This position will support employment of New Americans and their children in the long-term care profession.


JOB REQUIREMENTS
Tasks and duties include: Connection with long-term care employers in the field (60%) • Conduct site visits at member long-term care facilities to provide feedback and coaching on how to adapt the employee experience to build out welcoming environments for New Americans. • Conduct workplace assessments to evaluate needs of New Americans and make recommendations for interventions. • Facilitate connections to community-based resources, training and education, conflict resolution, problem solving, or other interventions as needed to support and maintain a thriving work experience for New Americans and their long-term care employers. • Introduce employers to Occupational English platform, build out awareness amongst employers and New Americans working in long-term care of its application in their workplace. Provide access to Occupational English platform as needed based upon assessment. • Provide coaching to employers on career advancement opportunities for New Americans and the pathway to access the training as outlined in the grant. Connection with New Americans, grant partner International Institute of Minnesota and other community-based organizations that serve New Americans and their children (40%). • Along with grant partner create tools and outline best practices that can be shared with other employers and community-based organizations throughout the state. • Outreach to community to provide education and increase awareness of the long-term care profession, available career pathways, education and training needed to support entry and advancement in the profession and connection to long-term care employers. • Outreach to employers to maintain database of employers who are interested in becoming employers of choice for New Americans. • Develop and maintain a referral processes for employers and New Americans to facilitate both employment, training and education. • Maintain data and reporting for grant initiatives. • Other duties as assigned. Experience and qualifications: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prior experience with community-based organizations that do training, education and/or job placement. Knowledge of the long-term care profession and career pathways. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Access to regular, reliable transportation. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities. Skilled at problem solving and able to independently address issues as they arise. Ability to speak a second language is preferred. Previous experience in long-term care and/pr experience working with New Americans is preferred.
